The Statistics Section, in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics,
was formed in 1990 and at present consists of 17 faculty members.

The research interests
of the section members are in rather broad fields, including
theoretical probability, applied probability, statistics and applied
statistics.
The section holds a weekly seminar
series, currently coordinated by Prof Wei Liu. Please contact

The section, joined with the Institute for Social Research, provides
Statistical consulting through the center of
Statistical Consulting
Service (SCS) located at the 6th floor of Ross Building.
What's New
Professor Stephen Chamberlin is the program director for Statistics
