Designed for
students in Applied Mathematics to complement and enrich the
material in AS/SC/ MATH 1014 3.0. The module treats the theory in
greater depth, and explores extended applications and modelling.
One lecture hour per week. The focus will be on problem
solving. Topics include complex numbers, the integral
and the fundamental theorem of calculus, Taylor's theorem,
and applications of the integral. Evaluation will be based
on assignments.
Prerequisite:AS/SC/MATH 1013 3.0 and MATH 1016 1.0.
Corequisite:AS/SC/MATH 1014 3.0 (not acceptable as a
prerequisite).
