What Economists Do?

Economists may specialize in one or more areas of economics such as industrial, agricultural or labour economics. Some of the other areas include international trade, finance, taxes and economic theory.

A great deal of mathematics and statistics is used in both modern and general economics. Applications include areas such as "predicting changes in economic conditions, measuring indicators such as volume of trade, size of labour force and standard of living; analyzing consumer behaviour."
