IMPORTANT DATES FOR 1999-2000

COMMENCEMENT OF CLASSES:
Fall: September 7, 1999 - Undergraduate classes, including courses which have both undergraduate and graduate numbers
September 13, 1999 - Graduate classes
Winter: January 3, 2000 - Graduate, undergraduate classes, including courses which have both undergraduate and graduate numbers
Summer: May 1, 2000 - Graduate classes
Note: The final dates of Graduate classes are at the Professors' discretion but each half course should have at least 36 hours of classes.
WITHDRAWAL DEADLINES: (these deadlines are strictly enforced)
Last day to withdraw from a course without receiving a grade of "W":
Fall half courses - October 8, 1999
Fall/Winter Full courses - October 8, 1999
Winter half courses - January 28, 2000
Summer courses - no later than completion of 1/4 of course
Last day to withdraw from a course without receiving a grade of "F":
Fall half course - November 12, 1999
Fall/Winter full course - January 14, 2000
Winter half course - February 25, 2000
Summer course - no later than completion of 2/3 of course
INCOMPLETES: A grade of I must be removed within 2 months of the grade reporting date for a half-course or within 4 months of the grade reporting date for a full course.
TUITION FEES PAYABLE:
Fall Term: September 15, 1999
Winter Term: January 15, 2000
Summer tuition: May 15, 2000
THESIS AND DISSERTATION DEADLINES:
Last day for submission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies of a thesis or dissertation prior to an oral examination:
For Fall Convocation: Ph.D. - September 7, 1999
Master's - September 13, 1999
Last possible date for an oral examination, and for the Faculty of Graduate Studies to receive, through Graduate Programme Directors, the favourable decisions of thesis/dissertation examining committees.
For Fall Convocation: October 4, 1999
Last day to deliver three unbound copies of each thesis and dissertation in final form to the Faculty of Graduate Studies:
For Fall Convocation: October 12, 1999
RECEPTION FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS: September 7, 1999
