PROGRAMME REGULATIONS
General Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission to the
Graduate Programme in Mathematics and Statistics, an applicant must be
a graduate of a recognized university, normally with at least a B
(second class) standing, or have equivalent qualifications. The
average is normally based on all grades over the previous two full
years of study. In practice, applicants who are admitted usually have
a somewhat higher average, especially in their mathematics and
statistics courses.
Applicants are normally required to
demonstrate competence in English if they come from a country where
English is not the main language. Normally a score of 550 (paper
based) or 213 (computer based) on the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) or a score of 85-90 on the Michigan English Language
Test (MELT) is required.
Applicants are not required to take the
Graduate Record Examinations.
