Subject: Stat seminars in winter term

  Hi,
    Happy new year!

    The winter term of the 96/97 has begun (you must experience the
snowstorm recently) and, with your participation, our Stat. seminar
will be once again offering some interesting talks throughout this
semester. 
   
    As before, seminars will be scheduled on Fridays, 10:30-11:30am.
Please mark them on your calendars.

    So far, I have got four speakers who promised to come and give 
seminars this term.  I will let you know the exact schedule for each
session as soon as it is settled. 
 
    Given the fact that there will be some presentations given
by interviewees for the stat position, we will definitely be having 
an active progarm of the stat seminar this term.

    As always, your inputs to our stat seminar are appreciated. And please
send me your suggestions.

    With your help, the stat seminar will have a full and exciting schedule
of activities in the winter term of 96/97.
