SUMMARY: Book about statistics for nonspecialists ???

It seems that tere is plenty of books for statistical beginners. The only
book that got two voices was:

Gonnick, Larry and Woollcott Smith
1993 The Cartoon Guide to Statistics. HarperPerennial, New York.

Anyway I found out there's excellent collection of english books about
statistics at The University of Technology library at Tampere. I'm going
to visit there and take look at them and maybe after that choose the one
I like best.
