PLS is not available in Splus. I have written a function to do PLS
and will mail it to you if you are interested. Let me also suggest an
article by Frank and Friedman which appeared in a 1993 issue of
Technometrics. It suggested that for regression problems with
multicollinear x's, you are better off using ridge regression than
pls. If you are interested in doing structural equations modelling,
my function will not help you.

There is a publicly contributed set of S functions for partial least
squares at Statlib, in the S directory. The package is called pls.
BTW, there are a number of interesting packages in that directory to
supplement base S-Plus. In fact, one of the S-Plus manuals refers to
the Statlib collection (User's manual, maybe?). You can get pls by
anonymous ftp to lib.stat.cmu.edu or through WWW at
http://www.stat.cmu.edu.

I saw your posting on PLS in S+ on the new group recently. There
are no PLS functions in S+ as distributed. I am working on a suite of
functions for PLS and PCA that will probably go in the next release of
S+DOX sometime next year. If you are interested, I could share them with
you. They won't be ready for distribution for another few weeks as I
have to write help functions.

I don't know of any S/S-plus implementations of Partial Least Squares. Many of the articles in J. of Chemometrics and Intelligent Lab Systems give "partial least squares" as a keyword but I don't know much beyond that.
