New StatLib entries for Sept/Oct 94

StatLib is an electronic archive of statistical programs, functions,
data, meeting information and other information.

Users can connect to StatLib using either e-mail, FTP, Gopher, or WWW
readers.

The following is a short list of the new or modified StatLib entries
for September and October 1994.

o There is a new WWW home page that lists provides pointers to WWW, FTP,
and gopher servers of Statistics Departments around the world. Use
your favorite WWW reader (Mosaic, MacWeb, Netscape, etc.) to have a
look.

The easiest way start using StatLib, is to send the one line
message
send index
to statlib@lib.stat.cmu.edu
You will receive instructions by return mail.

StatLib also has anonymous FTP, gopher, and WWW servers.
For ftp connect to lib.stat.cmu.edu (128.2.241.142) and login with
user name "statlib". PLEASE send your e-mail address as your
password. This will enable us to notify you of changes to the
software and notify the contributors about who has requested the
software.
To use gopher, connect to the gopher home at the University
of Minnesota and select StatLib from there. (StatLib is in North
America/USA/pennsylvania ...)
To use WWW point your favorite WWW reader (Mosaic seems to be
very popular) at
http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/
