THE INTERNATIONAL STATISTICAL REVIEW 3 times a year.
This is the main journal of the International Statistical
Institute. It has been retooled as a review journal aiming
to carry articles of broad interest to statisticians. Of
special interest to IASE members, the first 1995 issue will
carry 4 articles on statistical education.
SHORT BOOK REVIEWS (currently shipped with the Review): these
aim to give brief reviews very soon after the publication of
new books on statistics.
ARIS, the Annual Report on International Statistics. Do you
know what the United Nations Statistical Division did last
year? How about the new Czech Statistical Society? What do
the IMF and the World Bank do about statistics? ARIS gives an
unmatched international perspective on our discipline.
IASE dues will stay unchanged in 1995, at 70 Dutch Guilders (about
U.S. $39) for members in developed countries. That's not only a
bargain, it supports statistics in developing countries because
much of IASE's dues income goes to support attendance by teachers
of statistics in developing nations at IASE conferences (like ICOTS).
You can find the current IASE newsletter (IASE Review, mailed to members
last week), with a membership application for 1995 and more news, in
the Journal of Statistics Education archive: send this e-mail message:
