Income up, academic spending down

The April 30, 1997 York University Financial Statements shows that the
income of the university increased, while academic spending decreased.

The income for 1997 was 386.1 million dollars. The income for 1996 was
382.1 million, an increase of 4 million .

The Academic expenses for 1997 were 169.2 million. The Academic expenses
for 1996 were 174.0 million, a decrease of 4.8 million.

The Academic Support expenses for 1997 were 23.7 million. The Academic
Support expenses for 1996 were 29.5 million, a decrease of 5.8 million.
