Suddenly I have started getting lots of what to me is gibberish when
I enter Splus 3.3 for Windows. For instance . . .

Version 3.3 Release 1 for MS Windows 3.1 : 1995
Working data will be in C:\SPLUSWIN\HOME\_Data

NULL

I get one of these notify.update.database() lines for every
database that my .First() function adds to my search list, which
amounts to more than a screen of junk. More annoyingly, I get
one whenever I assign or remove a variable to my working database.

Why did this suddenly start? How do I stop it?
