[S] predict.loess

Whenever I have tried to use predict.loess in the past, e.g.

predict.loess(loess.object, loess.margin)

I have found that unless loess.margin is of the same length as the
data.object I get the message :

Error in loess.matrix(newdata, object$terms): length of variable 1 is
[length of data object, ie. loess ] != length of row names [new loess
margins]. Does anyone know where I am going wrong ?

yours sincerely
