[S] Trellis Panel Question

I've been using S-plus for a while but I've only started using the
trellis graphics (I'm using version 4 w/Windows95). Here is what I
want to do. I want to produce a "trellis" of scatterplots and in each
scatterplot I want to plot a simple nonlinear regression function
(power in my case). Now, I've plotted regressions in scatterplots in
the trellis using panel.loess and panel.lmline but there does not
seem to be a panel function for what I need. Has somebody written
such a function? I'm curious if it doesn't exist somewhere in S-plus
already because you can do a trellis of polynomial, exponential, log,
or power regressions superimposed on scatterplots using menu-driven
approach but I am looking for a way to do it from the command line
because I need to have more control over my plots than the menu
approach will afford me.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.
