Hello,
I want to produce a series of x-y scatter plots in which certain regions of
the plot (say, between x=4 and x=6) are lightly shaded to indicate a change
in experimental conditions. In other words, given two vectors (x and y), I
want to use

plot(x,y)

and then add a lightly shaded region from x=4 to x=6 along the length of the
y axis. Does anyone know how/if this can be done?
