Hi all,

Concerning my question on the display format of the dates column in a data
frame, I am completely satisfied by the answer I received by Terry Therneau.
I verified that changing the functions print.data.frame and
as.matrix.data.frame solves the problem.

However, I'm not sure in the moment if there can occur cases in which those
changes cause undesired effects.

What I learned is that

print(as.matrix(test.frame)[,c("Datum","Pb")],quote=F,right=T)

works as I want, while

print(as.matrix(test.frame[,c("Datum","Pb")]))

does not.

John McKinlay's suggestion just to treat year, month and day as seperate
columns is not very helpful for me because I need the complete information
contained in a dates object.

Thanks to Terry and John,

Theresa.
