[S] Behavior of trunc(x)

Hello S-Users,

I neglected to mention in my prior request that a work-around for the
trunc(x) problem is to modify

trunc(10*(x-trunc(x)))

by "nudging" the number, as in:

trunc(10*(x-trunc(x)) + 1e-10)

Although it sheds light on the problem, this strikes me as really kludgy.

Is there a better way?

thanks again,

John
