The editorial in the latest issue of _Performance Computing_ (formerly
_Unix Review_) is entitled "At Linux Speed". It discusses the change
there has been in the last year in the acceptance of Linux in large
organizations. An interesting quote from the first paragraph is "If
Windows NT 5.0 remains on the sidelines much longer, Linux may even
challenge it as the Intel server OS of choice for IT".

Later, the editor states:
"In addition to its newfound enterprise appeal, a subtle trend is
showing the OS's [i.e. Linux's] overall market presence. For
example, when MathSoft announced S-PLUS 5.0, it came out first on
Solaris, next on Linux -- ahead of the traditional AIX, Digital Unix,
and HP-UX. Why? Because the company figured that was where the
product's market had shifted."
