Christopher:

I like to use the win.printer() graphics device to make a windows
metafile. The created windows metafile can then be inserted in a WORD
document using the insert picture facility. This strategy works well
when you want to create multiple graphs.

example:

win.printer(file="c:\\mydocu~1\\bckoft.wmf", format="placeable")
plot(rnorm(100))
title("Plot Some Random Data")
dev.off()
