Thanks to Alan Zaslavsky, Stephen Smith, and Rolf Turner, we learn that
unpaste() indeed is available in Splus 3.3 and 4.5 for Windows, and Splus 3.4
for Unix.

I've done a little detective work, and it seems that unpaste first appeared as
part of the chron library, which is "not supported by Statsci", according to
the little message you get from library(chron). However, at some point some
of the functions from the chron library, including unpaste, were folded into
SPLUS proper. So they SHOULD in principle now be "supported by Statsci". Or
at least by DAPD, Mathsoft anyway...
