[S] Hoadges Lehman Measure of Location

function(n, p)
{
x <- dis(n, p) # dis is a function that #
generates n random variables
y <- rep(0, n)
z <- rep(0, n)
for(i in 1:n) {
y[i] <- median(x[i])
}
for(j in 1:n) {
z[j] <- outer(x[j], x[j], "+")/2
}
par(mfrow = c(1, 2))
hist(y)
hist(z)
}

The S_plus function above should plot the histogram of the median and
the Hoadges Lehmann measure of location of some random variables.

The problem is that the 2 distributions should be different, but the
function above plots exactly 2 similar histograms. I learned that the
distribution of the median should be more spread than the distribution
of the Hoadges Lehmann. Am I wrong? Can somebody help me understand
the above. Thank you in advance.
