[S] M.S. Biostatistician Position Opening

A growing biostatistics program at the University of Virginia School
of Medicine (in Charlottesville) has an opening for an individual
with a recent M.S. in Biostatistics. This is a Biostatistician II
position that does not require previous work experience but does
require a biostatistics degree and some knowledge of medicine or biology.
The biostatistician will work on clinical research projects and review
clinical research protocols. The projects arise from a joint relationship
between the University of Virginia and the University of Hawaii at Manoa,
and the biostatistician may spend 8 months each year at the University of
Hawaii and 4 months at UVa. One round trip air fare between the two sites
will be provided each year, and an incremental cost of living allowance
will be made.

Applicants must be proficient in modern high level statistical
languages such as S-PLUS or in SAS and in database management.
Command of categorical and nonparametric analysis and multivariable
modeling as well as excellent communication skills are required.
Applicants will work closely with biostatistical and medical faculty
and staff, participating in an integrated research effort which is
closely aligned with clinical and basic science research.

from the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley, and in beautiful

Thomas Jefferson. The Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology
currently has 4 M.S. biostatisticians and 4 full time faculty, and is
completing recruitment for another faculty member. To learn more
