2 questions for the tuned in:

Has anyone incorporated the Supersmoother into the GAM function call?
GAM current uses s( ), lo( ), poly( ), not supersmoother. There is a
difference of datatype.

Has anyone tried running S-Plus on a Mac with Linux, on a G3 or any
other motherboard chip? Linux is only about $40 for the Mac. I am
particularly interested in 10-25 term models on data with 20,000 (or
more) respondents.

For both questions, did it work? How well?

Thanks for sharing your experiences, or wise thoughts, on the topics.
