Workshop Abstract :
Event history data arise in diverse fields such as public health, actuarial science, social sciences, economics, business and manufacturing. The aim of this workshop is to introduce a variety of models and statistical methods available for the analysis of event history data with a particular emphasis on recurrent events. Models for the analysis of count data, gap time models, and intensity-based models will be discussed, as well as robust methods based on rate and mean functions. Features of the various models will be illustra! ted by application to several examples, taken primarily from health research. Statistical analysis will be carried out using SAS and R/S-PLUS code. The workshop will be based on the book The Statistical Analysis of Recurrent Events written by the presenters and published by Springer in 2007.
