Assignment 1. Due January 8 (second class)

Write a short (roughly 2-5 page) 'geometry autobiography', including items such as:
  1. What has been your previous exposure to formal geometry (as in high school courses, other undergraduate courses, summer jobs, teaching, applications to other fields etc.)?
  2. What has been your previous exposure to informal geometry: hobbies (origami, string art, sewing, carpentry etc.), sports, observing nature, design?
  3. Why geometry is taught in high school?
  4. What are your goals for this course?
  5. What role do visuals and hands-on materials play in your learning?
  6. * A couple of key questions you would like to find answers to during this semester of geometry (including possible questions about learning, about 'proving', about the history of the subject, about applications, etc.).
