    Under the new examination system, in order to become an actuary, a student will have to take certain courses at accredited universities. These credits are on three subjects, Economics, Corporate Finance and Applied Statistics. York offers all courses needed to meet this new requirement. As of January 2005, the following courses at York have been approved by the two bodies (SOA and CAS) as valid educational credit.

    To receive credit for a VEE subject, candidates will need a grade of B or better in each of the associated courses. You can direct any VEE question you might have to VEE@Soa.org.

    Each row in the above table represents one possible combination available to students at York. You should be careful to take into account all prerequisites when planning your courses.
