This course serves as an introduction to the study of statistics. Topics include collection and analysis of data, graphical and numerical methods to summarize data, random variables and probability distributions, sampling variability and distributions, estimation and hypothesis testing (one and two populations).
Although this course is recommended for students who wish to major in statistics, the concepts are broadly applicable and should be interesting to students who do not plan to specialize in the discipline.
Students should consult the undergraduate calendar (see link below) for course prerequisites and credit exclusions.
