(April 18) Unofficial final grades.. Please report any omissions and mistakes as soon as possible,
(Apr. 5) Suggested exercises for Section 10 were uploaded to wrong directory which caused some confusion. I regret the inconvenience. As noted earlier, neither 10.1 nor any part of Section 11 is included in the syllabus for the final exam. Therefore the final exam syllabus are as follows:
1.1-1.7, 2.1-2.4, 3.2, 5.1-5.3, 6.1-6.3, 8.1-8.2, 10.2.
(Mar. 28) Homework 4 and test 2 grades. Find the last four digits of your student number in the first column. Both will be given back in class on March 29.
(Mar. 22) Assignment 4 solutions. Questions 1 and 4 will be graded.
(Mar. 20) Test solutions.
(Mar. 16) It was brought to my attention that the test is taking place on a religious holiday (its date is not listed correctly on York's official Religious Observance dates http://www.registrar.yorku.ca/enrol/dates/religious.htm list). If you are an observing Zoroastrian and cannot take the test on March 20, please contact me by the end of the day today and I will shift the weight of the test to the final exam. If you don't contact me before Saturday morning I will assume that you are taking the test. In future please note that a fourteen day notice is required in this situation (see https://w2prod.sis.yorku.ca/Apps/WebObjects/cdm.woa/wa/regobs ).
(Mar. 14) Course evaluations can be submitted online here: http://courseevaluations.yorku.ca . between March 15, 2012 to April 2, 2012. These evaluations provide a valuable feedback and you are strongly encouraged to complete them. Also, 1% of the grade is given for completing the evaluation.
(Mar. 12) Test 2 will be taking place on Tuesday, March 20, between 10:00-11:15. It will cover sections 3.2, 5.1-5.3, 6.1-6.3 and 8.1-8.2.
Since the class is too large for one room, we will have to split it for the test as follows.
If your last name starts with one of the letters A-M, then go to R S203.
If your last name starts with one of the letters N-Z, then go to the usual classroom, CLH B.
It is your responsibility to go to the right room. If you make an attempt to take the test in the wrong room (e.g., if your last name starts with F and you find yourself in CLH B) you will then be escorted to the right room, probably losing valuable time in the process.
Bring a photo ID to the test. Before the test starts you will be required to write your name in the space provided in ink. During the test an invigilator will come to check your photo IDs and your name written in ink in the space provided. Be prepared to show both.
(Mar. 8) Fourth (and last) homework assignment.
(Mar. 7) Homework 3 grades. Find the last four digits of your student number in the first column. Test will be given back in class on March 8.
(Mar. 2) Third homework solutions. Questions 2 and 3 will be graded this time.
(Feb. 16 ) (a) Third homework assignment.
(b) Test 1 grades. Find the last four digits of your student number in the first column. Test will be given back in class today.
(c) Test 1 average was 46.82. Note that the TAs were very generous.
(Feb. 8) (c) Assignments 1 and 2 will be given back in class on Thursday, February 9.
(d) Due to the lack of interest, the tutorial on February 9 is cancelled.
(Feb. 8) (a) HW 1 and 2 grades. Find the last four digits of your student number in the first column.
