Grading scheme
There will be regular homework assignments (every week or two), one test, and an optional final exam.
The final exam for this course is the same as the comprehensive exam in general topology. Students planning on taking the final exam to fulfill their comprehensive exam requirement should contact
Primrose Miranda and let her know.

the dates of the Test and Final will be announced later. Your final grade will be calculated using the following grading
scheme:
TERM GRADE Homework: 60%; Test 40%
FINAL GRADE Max{TERM GRADE, 0.50*(Term Grade) + 0.50*(Final Exam)}

- Homework assignment 7 is due on Tuesday December 6.
- Homework assignment 6 is due on Tuesday November 22.
- Homework assignment 5 is due on November 10.
- We had the midterm on Thursday Oct 27. Recall that it counts for 40% of your term grade. I use the same grading scale as for the homework: 4/4 essentially perfect, A+; 3/4 more or less correct, some essential error or oversight, A-; 2/4 Some part essentially correct but perhaps one part left undone or misunderstood, B. 1/4 C.
- Homework assignment 4 is due on October 20.
- There will be a test during the week of October 24 over the material in Chapter 2 and whatever material we cover from Chapter 3 up to and including the lecture of October 20.
- Problem 3 from HW 2 is now part of HW 3.
- Homework assignment 3 is due on October 6.
- Homework assignment 2 is due on September 29.
- Homework assignment 1 is due on September 22.
